the lobby of crystal park tower is a separate architectural phenomenon by the akz architectura design studio. the main idea of the project is an oasis in the heart of the metropolis It was realized by the architects in such a neutral and warm way and exclusively from natural materials. the inspiration for the concept was an ancient architectural archetype - an arch, a gate, as a symbol of invitation and greeting. the arched structure is repeated in the design of the lobby and other areas. the interior is decorated in the style of minimalism - a simple design without excessive decorativeness, but with the repetition and strengthening of one architectural element, it is beautifully illuminated and creates a rhythm.

the five-story building on the pankivska 8 street in kyiv; is a place that has adopted the beauty parlor ‘kimera’. originally it was an old clubhouse, a typical historical city-center castle, that hid gargoyles and a fountain decorated with snakes in its courtyard.
the entrance to the salon is located on the facade wall when the living doors are aside. the total area of space makes 112 sq.m.
a tender pink is used as the major color, and a powder shade of terrazzo is the floor base. its combination brings body warmth and enveloping comfort. a fondatrice of the salon is passionate about gothic and anime that specified decorations and decor. the vintage mirror in a color bar is a heavenly body, which is spontaneously caught at one flea market.
designers artem vakhrin and katya aivazian have met their challenge in dividing space into zones like working places for hairdressers-hairstylers and make-up artists, a waiting area, a reception, a color bar, and in setting up a shop. the shape of the premise has determined the decision. even though the hall was divided in half, the room kept the open-space concept. a customized sofa and a glass partition were put for this purpose (the sofa consists of individual poufs, which might be stand-alone), so the area management becomes a functional solution. the glass curtain also closes a wardrobe rail. artem vakhrin and katya aivizian have used a light box system for brightening the working area, but the reception is pointwise lighted with luminaires. a chandelier of the spanish brand ‘by xjer studio’ and a table lamp of the brand ‘artemide’ are additional stylistic features of the main hall.
the color bar, stuff room, and restrooms are situated in the secondary hall, which is smaller than the main one. rooms are connected by a mirrored corridor that has a reflection of a gothic castle in it. the effect has been reached by putting a photo wallpaper to the opposite wall so that the mirror could display the picture. playing colorful led stripe was used for lightning.
combining gothic, anime, and pink, the ‘kimera’ beauty salon has become a place for enjoyable makeovers - 802021kyiv, ukraineresidental70 m²#80year2021nametomash apartmentlocationkyiv, ukrainecategoryresidentalsize70 m²

the task of the team was to create a unique solution that would meet the set requirements for the interior of the diagnostic center. after a detailed analysis, they took as an association to colors and materials: cities, nature, architecture and people, and tried to create an image of qatar. color combinations of ivory, stainless steel, sandstone, travertine and light wood create a warm and cozy atmosphere.
the premises are functionally divided into two areas - the client reception area and the examination area. Inside the car, the walls are lined with stainless steel, which gives a feeling of sterility and minimalism, the floor is made of ivory linoleum. the lighting solution is made due to the technology of light paper and led panels, on the ceiling and the end wall in the diagnostic area. the entrance area is responsible for the first meeting with the patient. in this area, the front two seats are missing, but there is a mini bar and a place to store the doctor's personal belongings. there is also a table for negotiations with the client, which is made of sandstone and has a structure that can be folded into a single panel on the wall if necessary to increase the space. the chairs are selected according to the ergonomic rules of a straight back for the doctor and the patient.
the second part of the space serves as an area for diagnostics, in order to structure the space into zones, a decision was made to divide it with a curtain, which is made in a warm color scheme to match the atmosphere of the entire space, as well as an unevenly shaped sandstone partition that closes the mini kitchen and the patient examination area, along with it serves as a place where you can change clothes. In the examination area, there is a mini kitchen, a workplace for the doctor, a storage place for documents in the form of lower and upper drawers with led strip lighting, which are made in one module of travertine and an in-body machine, there is also a folding couch, which is fully made made of light wood, it can easily be pushed out or folded against the wall, turning it into a wooden box, while freeing up more space for the device. under the couch there is a storage place for sheets and towels, which, like the couch, is made in the same wood texture.
the exterior of our machine is made in a gradient from beige to mirror chrome, as a symbol of purification, purity of consciousness and blessing after diagnosis. - 742021kyiv, ukraine1760 m²#74year2021namesagalocationkyiv, ukrainecategorysize1760 m²

sculptor is a 80 sq. m. facial massage workshop, located in a residential complex in kyiv’s center. the main idea of the project was to reflect the name of the salon in the interior as an analogy to the sculptor's workshop. the goal was to accommodate five workplaces, a reception, a waiting area with a showcase and utility rooms – a bathroom and a mini kitchen.
bathroom and the mini kitchen for staff are placed behind the mirrored wall of the reception. the mirror enhances the depth of the room and hides the utility rooms.
space opens up immediately at the entrance group. there is an exhibition podium with marble and wooden plinths displaying the products at the entrance. It works as a reference to the sculptors' podiums where they exhibit their works, pieces of art. waiting area on the opposite side with a bench and side tables, is designed in the same rhythm as the podium, but serves for relaxation, you can have a cup of coffee while you wait for your specialist. Next we move on to the reception made of stainless steel. the main entrance lobby ends with ceiling-high wooden cabinets used to stock products, open shelving and a wardrobe.
after that we find ourselves in the main work area. despite the fact that the workshop provides cosmetic procedures, we didn’t want to create workplaces in the old "cabinet" format. on the contrary, we wanted to keep the space open in order to emphasize that massage procedures are easy, pleasant, and one is free to share their emotions from the procedure with others. all the chairs are in the same space, but you quickly forget about it. sunlight enters through the large windows, enhancing the feeling of spaciousness and accentuating the 4 m high ceiling.
one of the important elements of the space, which remained after the dismantling, is the wooden plank flooring. such floors were often used for the old sculptors' workshops, so we kept it sanded and painted it white. the basis of the entire space is pure beige gypsum plasterboard with open putty joints, emphasizing the simplicity, referring to the sculptor workshop interior again. additional materials and shapes are wood, stainless steel, natural stone (marble and onyx), mirrors and construction foam. In general, the materials sculptors work with. wood is used as a filling natural canvas. all work surfaces of the masters and the receptionist are made of stainless steel, as a confirmation of the sterility of the work process. the stone with its heterogeneous structure emphasizes cosmetic products on it. we used the diy method, building foam, as an architect's hand experiment in framing mirrors, adding an accented visual element. curtains are made of a light linen-like texture and are attached to metal cables along the perimeter of the windows, as well as between the main hall and the entrance group. we used cables instead of classic cornices to make the space airy and lively.
zones of the entire space flow into one another with a continuous light palette, mixing warm (wood, gypsum, curtains) and cold shades (stainless steel, mirrors).
we wanted to find a creative analogy to basic things in every detail, reminiscent of workshop elements, that could be made from improvised means: curtain cables, mirrors, lamps were also custom made. - 662020kyiv, ukraineresidentalarchitecture260 m²#66year2020nameryabinki house interiorlocationkyiv, ukrainecategoryresidentalarchitecturesize260 m²
the house is located in the ryabinki cottage town, which is in 30 kilometers from kyiv, in a remote area among the linden groves. the main tasks in the design were to create a comfortable space for the life of the owners and receiving guests, to preserve the existing trees as much as possible and to focus on the landscape around, inscribing the house into it.
the building site itself is clearly divided into two parts - with and without trees, which dictated the location of the house - on its flat part. the cottage is one-storeyed and connected to the surroundings by a system of paths and landscape compositions around it.
in order to obtain a specific natural landscape and light environment, each function of the living space is oriented towards its desired orientation. in order to connect the interior and exterior space, to make it flow into each other, we used the maximum glazing area on the southeastern façade, which is oriented towards most of the garden. so the living room with the kitchen and the guest room receive the most sunlight, since they are the main areas for pastime. large 3x4m windows act as an ever-changing seasonal backdrop, letting in an abundance of color and natural light.
large area of glazing is also used in the master bedroom block. it faces the west and has its own separate block with a bathroom and dressing room, thus its hidden from the guests eyes of the house.
in addition to the main lighting through the windows, the skylight shafts are designed in the house, which form is round openings facing the sky and attract natural daylight to the very heart of the house.
outside, each of the blocks of the house - active, quiet or technical - is emphasized by a change in the height or material of the facades - larch and seam. the main color of the facade of the house is dark graphite, which in this context creates an allusion to a modern fortress, where you can hide from the noisy outside world. the red hörmann entrance door and the automatic pergolas on the main entrance and on the terrace are bright accents of the exterior.
the garden has several main functional areas. the fireplace is located closest to the house, and is connected by a single path with its own garden in the form of 7 concrete garden beds. the biopond, as an alternative to the pool, is designed far from home among the lindens. the rest of the site is landscaping, which includes more than 100 plant species, carefully selected by the clients themselves, together with dendrologists.
minimalist on the outside and warm on the inside, this quiet home is decorated in a neutral and natural palette of colors, materials and textures, including muted whites, beige, wood, linen and marble, inspired by the surrounding landscape. all the main rooms are compositionally connected with each other due to materials and textures.
the main wall dividing the active zone with others is made of natural wood and goes to a closed terrace with a summer kitchen, made in the same material. the house's material palette symbolizes its place in nature. the walls and furniture are finished in oak wood, complemented by natural stone. together, the materials create a space that feels intuitive and organic - internally, in sync with the outside world
the combination of noteworthy items such as knoll dining chairs and arflex armchairs by marcello cuneo is easy to match with custom-designed furnishings such as the kitchen. the fairly linear interior is softened by soft linen curtains and an oatmeal toulemonde bochart carpet interspersed with pattern, giving the design a relaxed, rustic feel.
the central element in the living room and in the house itself is the fireplace, which serves not only as an aesthetic accent, but also helps in heating the house.
technically, the house is equipped with a supply and exhaust ventilation and air conditioning system, a backup power supply system and heating in the form of a water heated floor. to avoid condensation on the windows that meet the floor, an additional electric underfloor heating was used along them.

the project of a coffee shop, located near a major transport hub on the way out of the city, carries not only the direct function of a cafe with drinks and desserts, but also provides its visitors with an opportunity to take a breather before and after a long journey. it was decided to create an interior calm and unobtrusive, but at the same time catch the eye of passers-by. the mustard color is the accent signature spot, which creates a comfortable, pleasant atmosphere. it is used in this room along the entire front wall behind the work area, as well as part of the furniture on the summer terrace in this color. an unusual element in this interior is a transparent box filled with dried flowers and illuminated by neon. the authors sought to make the interior as functional as possible, so the box combines a decorative function with a utilitarian one: the tabletop is located at such a mark to provide the visitor with a comfortable (and quite popular nowadays) coffee-to-go format - you can simply put a drink to free your hands before leaving, you can stay longer to drink coffee while standing.

the main task the team pursued when designing this facility was to create an exclusive venue aimed at a female audience that offers a full range of services needed to prepare for an important event, whether it is attending a party as a guest or a wedding as a bride. the uniqueness begins with the approach of the staff and the concept of customer service, which contributed to the most significant extent to the creation of the venue's design. the biggest challenge was that the facility has two floors, one of them being a basement with no natural light. therefore, the flight of steps is emphasized with the help of full height curtains and installations made of acrylic petals, which is not just a connecting passage, but creates the effect of a single space flowing between floors from a common area to a more intimate fitting one. the lower floor is divided into two rooms: the spatial solution of the fitting spaces located in the first one is that of a single space separated by curtains and a podium. with this approach, the visitor has the opportunity to choose any scenario comfortable for her, whether it is chatting with friends from the support group that can sit at the front of the dressing room on a huge couch with a glass of prosecco, or privacy at the back achieved by going out into the mirror corridor. the main element of the next room is a mirror cube, opening the doors of which you can get into another fitting room. the cube lures one into a kind of labyrinth, behind the walls of which utility rooms and a bathroom are hidden from the eyes of visitors. the planning solution invites girls to go all the way from browsing through and choosing dresses and accessories for holiday clothes to makeup, hairstyles and cosmetic procedures. to achieve this, the space was divided into separate halls and cabinets, where the main separators are the interior finish materials used two terrazzo colors in the flooring, gold trim of the arches, curtains, and mirrors. to create a genuinely permeable space, individual bright elements were used as magnets allowing one to escape from a flat spatial composition into a volumetric one In the first hall that visitors enter such is an accessory table creating a welcoming composition. it is made of mirrors in order to reflect and make more pronounced the main content of the hall rails with dresses, and at the same time to attract attention with its unusual bow-like shape. the next unusual shape this place can boast is a rail for exclusive and rare outfits, put together in the form of strung pearls. the signature visual and spatial style of the venue was developed by us in such a way that it is made as a single concept including its interior

renovation project for a standard apartment from 1930s and change of its designation purpose to a recreational object - healthy nutrition cafe bowl. change in the functionality of the object directly influences forming of both recreational and meal zones. in order to challenge post-soviet system stereotypes, common ergonomic space was created by merging zones for eating and for relaxation.
this project has social and health-promoting idea as it foresees development and creation of new social groups. it also provides new understanding of how to create urban cafes, its ecosystems and functionality.
primary design forming feature of the project is a metal net construction that is also functioning as dining place of the cafe. transparency of this construction does not overload the space and also successfully combines with the idea of a healthy nutrition that should not overload guests stomach.
there are also some interesting details in the interior of the cafe, such as wallpapers that interpret soviet time wallpaper ornaments - as a heritage to an apartment that became bowl now, or neat combination of stainless steel and natural marble. amorphous form of mirrors balances out strict lines of cafe design. light concept is combining of nulla spotlights and infinito strips by david groppi.
cafe offers balanced and healthy dishes in bowls, smoothies and carefully selected coffee.
we also created brand identity of the venue as a part of general concept of the place. - 512019kyiv, ukraineretail20 m²#51year2019namemakeuplocationkyiv, ukrainecategoryretailsize20 m²

competition project of the chapel in rome.
the task of architects was to develop the space of all religions and beliefs. the main architectural solution was to introduce the chapel into the environment, taking into account the existing buildings and the already located church. the new building should be on via julia in the historic part of the city. to preserve the existing routes, a pyramidal shape was created, the arrangement of the sides of which was justified by the streets surrounding the design site.
the materials and symbols used in the chapel embody the spiritual orientation and historical belonging to the place. a light stone is natural for the roman region; water is a powerful symbol in all religions, namely the symbol of life itself, purification and rest; communication with the outside world is represented by natural light with the help of an open atrium, the falling shadow from which as a pendulum moves along the internal crystal clear walls and indicates the transience of time; the mirror finish of the facades reflects the environment, thereby dissolving the building in it.
the layout of the structure is made so that the central axis of the building becomes an atrium and a ladder, surrounded by water on the lower floor. accomplishment consists of open amphitheaters and landscaping for more active recreation of citizens and visitors of the city. - 132017kyiv, ukrainedesignresidental159 m2#13year2017namehoffmanlocationkyiv, ukrainecategorydesignresidentalsize159 m2

the balance between simplicity and complexity reflects the rational logic and philosophy of the studio. the interior style expresses a peaceful, cozy lifestyle. preferring unfilled space, designers do not overload it with a large number of accents. Individual inserts of object design furniture and lighting create a memorable image, while having a corresponding function. the first level was left as a single open space that accommodates the kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as a guest bathroom. the second floor is private, there are three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a dressing room. light and shadows interact with the soft texture of the carpet and the comfortable sofa, creating a cozy home space. wood veneer and light gray textiles create a natural and warm spatial tone. the main lighting items are soviet and dutch vintage. paintings by local kyiv artists fully interact with the interior, giving it cultural and aesthetic weight.

the color reason "why" was to make the space fundamentally different from most kyiv bars, which are mostly brick, wood and rusty metal. color pallette run from the colours of wine. if to mix white and red wine we've got a rose/pink one, so we choose this colour as main in the interior (walls, floor, some fabrics), and also the gold colour is main, cause it's sparkle and make the shiny effect as sparkle wine bubbles. all materials are an easy reference to the art deco style ( geometric black/white tile, velour fabrics, gold, arc mirrors, fluted glass lights).

orang+utan vegetarian bar follows the concept that the city is a jungle, and its denizens “smart animals” that have developed sophisticated modes of feeding. the bar’s small and elongated space was given a futuristic, laboratory-like feel —probably a nod to mid-century avant-garde design and particularly superstudio’s work with grids and their quaderna series (1970) for zanotta. although such a bleak and austere interior space is not what you would expect from a healthy-food establishment, the black-and-white ambience makes for an interesting contrast with the colourful food on offer. though more of a takeaway snack bar, orang+utan also has a small seating area opposite the counter, over which hangs an impressive all-white neon sign.

private clinic, the total area of which is 160 sq.m., was previously a pharmacy, and was given to the designer and builders in a dilapidated state. the newly created premises consist of three offices where dentists are admitted, an x-ray room, a bathroom and utility rooms. based on the principles according to which the customer approaches the work, the general concept of the interior was also developed. since the main value here, in addition to an experienced doctor, is high-quality dental equipment, the main task of the author's team was to concentrate attention on the technique, to professionally emphasize what the client turns to status dent for. In the process of implementation, the designer encountered many nuances that are characteristic only of medical institutions: sometimes clear state standards dictated their limited conditions. in the composition of the furniture ensemble and finishing materials, the choice was based solely on taste preferences. to put it simply, we took what we liked, not what brands and salons dictated. some elements were made according to their own sketches in local workshops. one of the favorite elements in the interior is an intricately shaped mirror attached to one of the walls in the reception area.

akz architectura designs soft pink interior for champagne bar in kyiv 30.05.2016
the designers were asked to create a space that felt "fundamentally different" from other bars in the ukrainian capital, which typically feature rustic brickwork, metal and wood. with this in mind, they based their design for naïve bar on the sparkling wines it will serve – combining pastel-toned pink walls with art deco-style details.

bowl cafe in kyiv, ukraine by akz architectura 23.07.2019
akz architectura has designed bowl café in kiev, ukraine, transforming a traditional 1930s apartment into a nutrition-focused hospitality venue. the 58sqm site was stripped back to reveal a brick and concrete shell, along with some historically telling decorative elements that akz transitioned into the new design. the dominant material is a sturdy metal mesh, used by the architects to form a long communal bench seat, chairs, stools, and dining tables with steel bases topped by glass. the long, narrow site is open and communal, with the mesh seating to one side, and an ordering counter to the other. aiming to challenge the conservative stereotypes of the post-soviet system, akz blurred the boundaries between zones for eating and relaxation. rather than providing separate tables, the shared layout encourages a social dynamic between patrons and prompts a new understanding of the urban café ecosystem, functioning as a space for people to gather and connect.

blushhh! secret shop, which is our new project, is an example of a bright concept put at the heart of a minimalist interior.
to land the main focus on retail, we designed a perimeter-wise path starting with the entrance on its right-hand side and aided by rails and steps with the assortment on them. being a two-level solution, they have clothes on their upper and accessories and footwear on the lower level. augmenting the whole spatial composition, the consumer area is equally divided into levels to sell accessories. the dynamic rhythm of lighting is reflected in the metal wall decor, making the inside seem more spacious.
