margarita apartment

RITA apt is a minimalist apartment located in the historic city center. Prior to the design process, the space had no partitions, and all the apartment's windows faced only one side. Our task was to design the space in such a way that the kitchen, living room, bedroom, and office would have natural light. Therefore, we divided the bedroom and office with a glass and wood partition, while the kitchen and living room were combined in a single space. Closer to the entrance, we arranged a wardrobe and a bathroom behind other partitions. By the way, we also managed to introduce some natural light into the bathroom through a skylight. The clients preferred natural materials and subdued colors, so the interior's foundation is reflected in the walls, which are painted in a matte white. Additional finishes were done with oak and ash veneer, as well as natural stone in the bathroom. The floors in all rooms are made of oak parquet, and the bathroom features partially poured flooring. The living room, together with the kitchen, starts with a wooden monoblock that conceals household utilities and seamlessly transitions into kitchen storage. The kitchen countertop and backsplash are made of Dedalus stone and serve as prominent elements in this block. There is a seating area for three people, a custom-made dining table from ash wood, and a Flos lamp above it. As the house walls are thick, we also used ash wood for the window sills, providing the opportunity to sit on them. The guest area is designed very concisely and compactly, yet it accommodates all necessary elements for comfortable leisure time. The office was designed with a touch of 1970s American interior styles, so its foundation consists of walnut-toned wooden panels mixed with other elements such as shelves and an ash wood desk surface, complemented by mirror details. It is from this room that we enter the bedroom through an integrated partition made of the same wood and glass. If desired, the office and bedroom area can be closed off with a curtain located behind the partition. Creating a mirrored surface with good lighting was an important task in the interior design. Since the layout allowed us to extend mirrors at the entrance along a 2.3-meter wall leading to the wardrobe, we decorated the entrance with a portal-like lightbox, providing excellent lighting regardless of the natural light outside. The bathroom's focal points are the stone block surrounding the bathtub and the gradient mirror with a coating, accompanied by two Martinelli Luce sconces that also feature a color gradient element in the center of the light fixture. The end result is a beautiful combination of minimalist design and practical functionality with a touch of vintage charm.
