new project of reconstruction of the main city square in nikolaev functional zoning of the territory provides for the expansion of functions present on the site for design. this planning structure is designed for multi-functional use of the territory. for public mass events, the allocation of a large part of the area where it is possible to hold a rally, install a stage, an open summer cinema, a concert stage, a fair, an ice rink (in winter), etc.

the landscaping in the cathedral square is designed in such a way as to provide a comfortable stay for visitors not only during walks, but also during mass events. the hills on the square have a height of 1-1.5 m and are framed by a system of pedestrian-bicycle paths of irregular structure. this method creates a game of viewpoints, constantly changing. during the mass events, these hills can serve as a kind of amphitheater for a comfortable viewing of a film or concert on stage, and in winter you can ride a sled.
